Spanish Version

History

Fiesta Educativa was founded in 1978 to educate and assist Latino families in obtaining services and in caring for their children with special needs. Fiesta Educativa was formed by family members and professionals who who recognized the need to provide assistance and advocacy to these spanish-speaking families.

Fiesta Educativa is one of the few organizations in the entire state of California that is dedicated to empowering the Latino families of persons with special needs through education, training referral, and information. This is accomplished through various projects such as the Annual Conference held every spring at the University of Southern California. It gives parents and professionals from all over the state and the nation an opportunity to meet and exchange ideas and information.

Fiesta Educativa is committed to the philosophy that persons with special needs are entitled to the benefits of full integration into the community. In order to accomplish this goal, Fiesta Educativa collaborates with all generic, public and private organizations in assisting families to obtain services.
