Program Components
LLOP's threefold policy analysis and leadership training program consists of:
- One week conference hosted by the LLOP's national office. The Summer Policy
Training Institute convenes nationally recognized policy experts, academics,
and civic leaders that address salient national and local policy issues.
Through workshops, lectures, seminars and discussions, students learn about
vital issues, acquire skills, and develop strategies they can apply in their
communities.
- Research of policy issues at the local level, with emphasis on community
concerns and mechanisms for addressing them. Under the direction of the
inter-University Program faculty director and local site coordinator,
participants engage in scheduled activities which vary according to the issues
that most affect that region.
- Cultural activities, such as Latino theater pieces, museums, movies, and
lectures.
